ASTM A519 Mechanical Tube

A519 mechanical tube refers to seamless carbon steel and alloy steel mechanical tubes produced in accordance with ASTM A519 standards.

This specification covers for several grades of carbon and alloy steel mechanical tubing, either hot-finished or cold-finished. The steel used in the mechanical tubing may be cast in ingots or may be strand cast. When steel of different grades is sequentially strand cast , identification of the resultant transition material is required.

ASTM A519 standard covers multiple grades of carbon and alloy steel seamless mechanical tubing, including both heat-treated and cold-worked conditions, in sizes up to round tubes 12 3/4 inches (323.8 mm) in diameter or smaller. and the required wall thickness.

1. ASTM A519 mechanical tube properties

Precise size control
ASTM A519 mechanical tube itself is a kind of seamless tube. One of the characteristics of seamless tube is its high precision, and this mechanical tube is made by cold rolling or hot rolling process, which can control the size of the steel pipe more strictly.

High strength and toughness
By heat treating this metal material, the strength and toughness of the mechanical tube can be improved. Heat treatment is a very important step in metal material processing. Heat treatment can change the physical and mechanical properties of the metal material and improve its hardness, strength, toughness and other properties.

Various sizes and shapes
A519 Mechanical Tube comes in a variety of sizes and shapes, including round, square, rectangular and special cross-sections.
