Manufacturing process:
1. Steel pipe piles are usually manufactured by welding steel plates together to form a cylindrical shape. According to the manufacturing process, steel pipe piles can be divided into two categories:
(1)Welded Pipe Piles: These piles are manufactured by welding together steel plates to form a cylindrical shape. The welded seams provide strength and structural integrity.
(2)Seamless Pipe Piles: These piles are made from seamless pipes that are manufactured without any welding joints. They offer excellent integrity and are often preferred for projects requiring higher load capacities.
2. Steel sheet piles are manufactured by rolling steel sheets into a U or Z shape. U-shaped sheet piles have one interlocking element, while Z-shaped sheet piles have two interlocking elements, providing greater stability and design flexibility



Application:
1. Steel pipe piles are usually used to support heavy loads in deep foundation systems, including building foundations, bridges, piers, piers, retaining walls, offshore structures, etc. They provide support and stability in soil conditions where traditional shallow foundations may not be sufficient.
2. Steel sheet piles are mainly used for retaining structures such as cofferdams, flood walls and excavation support. They can also be used as cutoff walls to prevent water penetration in projects such as port facilities, flood defense systems and underground structures.

Installation method:
1. Steel pipe piles are driven into the ground for installation by means of impact piling, vibration piling or drilling and grouting. Installation techniques depend on factors such as soil conditions, pile length, loading requirements and site constraints.
2. Steel sheet piles are installed by driving the steel sheet piles vertically into the ground by impact hammer, vibratory hammer or hydraulic press. The method of installation depends on factors such as soil conditions, depth required, and available equipment. Temporary or permanent sheet pile walls can be created depending on project requirements.

Load-bearing capacity:
Steel pipe piles and steel sheet piles have different load-bearing capacities. Steel pipe piles can support higher loads than steel sheet piles due to their larger cross-sectional area and greater structural rigidity.

Durability:
Both steel pipe piles and sheet piles are made of high-strength steel designed to resist corrosion and other environmental elements. However, due to their thin and flexible nature, sheet piles are more prone to damage and deformation during installation.

In summary, steel pipe piles are used for vertical load-bearing applications such as supporting heavy structures, while steel sheet piles are used for lateral retaining and excavation support. The choice between the two depends on project requirements, soil conditions, loading and the desired structural outcome.
