Stainless Steel Honeycomb Panel

Metal honeycomb panels are composed of metal panels, back panels and a honeycomb core material middle layer with masonry effect. According to the different panel materials, they can usually be divided into aluminum honeycomb panels and stainless steel honeycomb panels.

1. What is a stainless steel honeycomb panel?

Stainless steel honeycomb panels refer to panels made of stainless steel plates with material grades of 201, 304 or 316 as panel substrates, aluminum honeycomb cores as core materials, and stainless steel plates, aluminum plates or galvanized plates as back panels, which are composited with special adhesives. In simple terms, the material composition of stainless steel honeycomb panels can be broken down into three parts: "panel + core material + back panel". The panel is 201, 304 or 316 grade stainless steel plate. The core material is aluminum honeycomb core. The back panel is stainless steel plate, aluminum plate or galvanized plate.

2. Characteristics of stainless steel honeycomb panel

a. Various forms and strong decorativeness
Stainless steel honeycomb panel has its special metallic luster. Electroplating copper plating technology or PVD vacuum ion plating technology can be used to color the surface of the stainless steel panel. The color is rich. It can also be brushed, mirrored, sandblasted, random patterned, etched and other effects on the panel, which are highly decorative.

b. Green environmental protection, healthy and safe
All are made of metal materials. The material itself has stable performance, will not release polluting harmful substances, and can be fully recycled, meeting the standards of green environmental protection. Some panels are made of food-grade stainless steel such as 304 or 316, which is healthier and safer.

c. Superior performance and durability
The material has stable performance, light weight, high flatness, large plate width, high strength, strong impact resistance, good waterproof, sound insulation, thermal insulation, good wind pressure resistance, and good weather resistance and self-cleaning properties. It is a non-combustible material with excellent fireproof performance and the highest fire resistance level can reach A1.

d. Convenient construction and simple operation
It can be installed in any order, and each wall panel can be disassembled and replaced separately, which improves the flexibility of installation and maintenance and reduces costs. Because of its light weight, easy disassembly and assembly, and will not damage the board, it is convenient to transport and can be transported to different places for repeated use.

3. Common parameters

The common parameters of stainless steel honeycomb panels are as follows:
The length range is 5000mm, the width range is 6000mm, the common board specifications are 1220×2440mm, 1220×3050mm, etc., and special specifications can be customized.

The thickness range is 5~100mm, and the common thicknesses are 5mm, 10mm, 12mm, 15mm, 18mm, 20mm, etc., and special specifications can be customized.

4. Types and material comparison of stainless steel honeycomb panels

(1) Types of stainless steel honeycomb panels
According to the different textures of the stainless steel panels, stainless steel honeycomb panels can generally be divided into four categories: mirror stainless steel honeycomb panels, brushed stainless steel honeycomb panels, sandblasted stainless steel honeycomb panels, and etched stainless steel honeycomb panels.

a. Mirror stainless steel honeycomb panels
After the stainless steel surface is processed by polishing and grinding equipment, a smooth and reflective surface effect (also called mirror surface) is obtained.

b. Brushed stainless steel honeycomb panels
After the stainless steel surface is processed by mechanical friction, a straight surface texture (also called frosted) is obtained, including brushed, and ripples, and ripples.

c. Sandblasted stainless steel honeycomb panels
After the stainless steel surface is processed by high-speed jetting, a fine bead-like sand surface texture is obtained.

d. Etched stainless steel honeycomb panels
After the stainless steel surface is processed by chemical reagents, the designed pattern and text are obtained.

(2) Material comparison
The main components of stainless steel honeycomb panels are stainless steel and aluminum. The following is a comparison of the material differences between stainless steel honeycomb panels and aluminum honeycomb panels and stainless steel single panels.

a. Comparison with aluminum honeycomb panels
Composition
Stainless steel honeycomb panels: The panels are mainly made of high-quality stainless steel plates as the base material.
Aluminum honeycomb panels: The panels are mainly made of high-quality alloy aluminum plates or high manganese alloy aluminum plates as the base material.

Performance
Stainless steel honeycomb panels: Compared with other metal honeycomb panels, stainless steel honeycomb panels have stronger plate strength and corrosion resistance. At the same time, the material itself has a unique metallic luster and is more durable. The richness of color and texture is not as diverse as that of aluminum honeycomb panels.

Aluminum honeycomb panels: The plate strength is worse than that of stainless steel honeycomb panels. At the same time, after long-term exposure to the sun and rain or industrial waste gas pollution, the surface oil, dirt and naturally formed loose oxide layer will seriously affect the surface decoration effect of aluminum honeycomb panels, and the durability is slightly worse. But its plate color, texture and pattern are richer and more diverse.

Application
Stainless steel honeycomb panels: Decoration of building curtain walls, roofs, large and medium-sized store billboards, internal and external walls, ceilings, etc. Suitable for functional areas that require higher plate strength and corrosion resistance. Its price is relatively expensive.

Aluminum honeycomb panel: suitable for civil buildings, vehicle and ship decoration, etc. It is the application of aviation and aerospace materials in the field of civil buildings. Compared with stainless steel honeycomb panels, its price is relatively low.

b. Comparison with stainless steel veneer
Composition
Stainless steel honeycomb panel: composed of multiple layers of metal plates.
Stainless steel veneer: composed of a single layer of stainless steel plate.

Performance
Stainless steel honeycomb panel: light weight, high flatness, with certain thermal insulation and sound insulation properties. High impact strength, stronger stability, not easy to deform, and strong durability.

Application
Stainless steel honeycomb panel: not easy to bend or bend, so the applicable architectural or indoor modeling effect is relatively limited, but the plate size can be made larger, and the maximum plate area can reach 9 square meters (commonly 1500mm×6000mm).

Stainless steel veneer: can achieve more architectural appearance or indoor modeling effects. Easy to bend or bend, which is not easy to achieve with stainless steel honeycomb panels. The plate size is limited, and the plate area is usually not more than 1 square meter.
