The main cooling bed types of the seamless pipe production line are single chain cooling bed, double chain cooling bed, new chain cooling bed, stepping rack cooling bed and screw cooling bed.
1. Single chain cooling bed
The single-chain cooling bed mostly adopts a climbing structure. The cooling bed is composed of forward transport chain and fixed guide rail, and has a set of transmission system. The steel pipe is placed between the two grabs of the forward transport chain, and the fixed guide rail bears the weight of the steel pipe body. The single-chain cooling bed uses the thrust of the forward transport chain claw and the friction of the fixed guide rail to make the steel pipe rotate. At the same time, relying on the self-weight of the steel pipe and the angle of lifting, the steel pipe is always close to the claw of the forward transport chain to realize the stable rotation of the steel pipe.
2. Double chain cooling bed
The double-chain cooling bed is composed of a forward transport chain and a reverse transport chain, and each of the forward and reverse chains has a set of transmission systems. The steel pipe is placed between the two grabs of the forward transport chain, and the reverse chain bears the weight of the steel pipe body. The double-chain cooling bed uses the thrust of the claws of the forward transport chain to make the steel pipe run forward, and uses the friction of the reverse chain to make the steel pipe produce continuous rotational motion. The movement of the reverse chain makes the steel pipe always lean against the claws of the forward transport chain to achieve smooth rotation and uniform cooling.
3. New chain cooling bed
Combining the characteristics of single chain cooling bed and double chain cooling bed, the cooling bed is divided into uphill section and downhill section. The uphill section is a double-chain structure composed of a forward transport chain and a reverse transport chain. The positive and negative actions together make the steel pipe continue to rotate and move forward, making climbing movements. The downhill section is a single-chain structure in which the forward transport chain and the steel pipe guide rail are arranged in parallel, and it relies on its own weight to realize rotation and landslide movement.
4. Stepping rack cooling bed
The bed surface of the stepping rack type cooling bed is composed of two sets of racks, one of which is assembled on a fixed beam, which is called a static rack. The other is assembled on the moving beam and is called the moving rack.
When the lifting mechanism is in action, the movable rack lifts up the steel pipe, and because of the inclination angle, the steel pipe rolls once along the tooth shape when it is held up. After the moving gear rises to the highest position, the stepping mechanism acts to make the moving rack advance one step toward the output direction of the cooling bed. The lifting mechanism continues to move, driving the movable rack to descend and put the steel pipe into the tooth groove of the fixed rack, the steel pipe rolls once again along the tooth profile of the fixed rack, and then the movable rack returns to the initial position to complete a working cycle.
5. Screw cooling bed
The screw type cooling is composed of the main transmission device, the screw and the fixed cooling platform, etc. The screw includes the screw core and the screw helix. The working surface of the fixed cooling platform is higher than the screw rod core and lower than the helix line, and the weight of the steel pipe body is borne by the fixed cooling platform. The main transmission device drives the screw to rotate synchronously, and the helix on the screw pushes the steel pipe to roll forward on the fixed cooling platform for cooling.
Single chain cooling bed is not suitable for discontinuous operation, double chain cooling bed has better effect, new chain cooling bed has good effect and low cost, and stepping rack cooling bed is generally used in large-scale or high-configuration production lines. Screw cooling beds are generally used for cooling steel pipes with smaller diameters.
