CNC plasma cutting seamless pipe tips

The principle of plasma cutting seamless pipes is to use the high energy density and instantaneous high temperature of plasma to melt the seamless pipes to achieve cutting, welding and other processes. During the cutting process, the plasma gun generates arc discharge through the power supply, ionizing gas atoms to form plasma. The high energy density and instantaneous high temperature of plasma can melt the seamless pipe instantly and form a high-speed air flow, thereby achieving cutting purposes.

Generation of plasma
Plasma is a gas state in a high-energy state with characteristics such as ionization, conductivity, and radiation. In plasma, electrons and ions of gas atoms collide with each other, releasing energy and ionizing the gas atoms into positively charged ions and negatively charged electrons. When the electrons return to the ground state of the atom, they emit photons and heat, creating a plasma.

When using a CNC plasma cutting machine to cut seamless pipes, the cutting quality is unstable and wearing parts are frequently replaced. It is found that the user does not use the CNC plasma cutting machine in a standardized manner during operation, and at the same time pays attention to some detailed issues. Not enough, here are some tips for CNC plasma cutting of seamless pipes:

1. Cutting should start from the edge
Whenever possible, start cutting from the edge of seamless pipe rather than cutting through holes. Using the edge as the starting point will extend the life of the consumable parts. The correct method is to aim the nozzle directly at the edge of the workpiece before starting the plasma arc.

2. Reduce unnecessary "arc starting (or arc guiding)" time
The nozzle and electrode are consumed very quickly during arcing. Before starting, the cutting torch should be placed within walking distance of the seamless pipe.

3. Do not overload the nozzle
Overloading the nozzle (i.e. exceeding the nozzle's operating current) will quickly damage the nozzle. The current intensity should be 95% of the nozzle's working current. For example: the amperage of a 100A nozzle should be set to 95A.

4. Use reasonable cutting distances
According to the requirements of the instruction manual, use a reasonable cutting distance. The cutting distance is the distance between the cutting nozzle and the workpiece surface. When perforating, try to use 2 times the normal cutting distance or the maximum height that the plasma arc can transmit.

5. The perforation thickness should be within the allowable range of the machine system
The cutting machine cannot pierce steel plates that exceed the working thickness. The usual piercing thickness is 1/2 of the normal cutting thickness. Try to keep the cutting torch and consumable parts clean. Any dirt on the cutting torch and consumable parts will greatly affect the plasma. System functionality. When replacing consumable parts, place them on a clean flannel cloth, check the connecting ribs of the cutting torch frequently, and clean the electrode contact surface and nozzle with hydrogen peroxide cleaner.
