Precautions for the use of straight seam steel pipes

As a large class of welded steel pipes, straight seam steel pipes are made of steel strips, welded by straight seam high-frequency welding technology, and the weld seam is parallel to the steel pipe longitudinally. According to the production process, straight seam steel pipe can be divided into high frequency straight seam steel pipe (ERW pipe) and submerged arc welded straight seam steel pipe (LSAW pipe). After the welding of the straight seam steel pipe is completed, a hydrostatic test will be carried out for water and gas transmission.

Generally, straight seam steel pipes need to have strict technical requirements during installation and use. In order to ensure the quality, it is necessary to operate according to the actual situation and operating procedures.

1. Construction preparation before use of straight seam steel pipe
When installing the straight seam steel pipe, it is necessary to excavate the pipe groove and complete the masonry of the pipe. At this time, various tools are needed, including electric welding machine, cutting machine, electric hammer, polishing machine, etc. Only when all equipment is complete, and only after a series of preparations have been completed, can the installation begin.

2. Installation of straight seam steel pipe
Before the steel pipe is installed, it is necessary to locate the installation position of the pipe according to the drawing design, and prefabricate the pipe frame according to the site conditions, then polish the groove, and finally install it.

3. Use quality requirements
(1) The support pipe should not be welded at the weld, and avoid welding at the elbow.
(2) The deviation per meter for vertical installation should be less than 3 mm, and the deviation per meter for horizontal installation should be less than 1 mm.
(3) The weld seam should be straight and full, and the surface of the weld seam should be free of burn-through and cracks.

The above are the precautions for the installation of straight seam steel pipes. Generally speaking, the use of straight seam steel pipes is relatively wide, such as some water, oil, and gas transportation.
