Stainless Steel Checkered Plate:Manufacturing Process and Applications

1. Overview of stainless steel checkered plate

Stainless steel checkered plate is a material that is embossed on stainless steel plate through mechanical equipment to form an uneven pattern. Since the first small-scale production of this material in European rolling mills in the early 1960s, it has been quickly adopted and popularized by many industries due to its excellent corrosion resistance and anti-slip properties. The original pattern design was a simple staggered pattern of horizontal and vertical stripes. In the past 20 to 30 years, researchers have developed new patterns with better anti-slip properties through continuous experiments and innovations, and have been widely promoted and applied. In recent years, the application field of stainless steel checkered plate has continued to expand, the product models have continued to increase, and the speed of replacement has accelerated.

2. Manufacturing process of stainless steel checkered plate

The manufacturing of stainless steel diamond plate sheets mainly adopts the following methods:

(1) Embossing

This is the most commonly used and low-cost manufacturing process. Pressure is applied to the stainless steel plate through a mold or roller to cause local material plastic deformation to form a pattern. This method includes stamping, static pressing or rolling. The punching depth can be adjusted according to different molds and the tensile properties of stainless steel plates to meet different application requirements.

(2)Chemical etching method

Using printing technology or photo engraving, a pattern anti-corrosion film is first covered on the surface of the stainless steel plate, and then etched in a corrosive solution. After removing the film, a high-precision pattern is obtained. This method is suitable for large-scale production and is often used to make products such as currency plates and black titanium marble.

(3) Engraving and milling

Using mechanical equipment such as engraving machines and profiling machines, combined with rotary tools for milling or manual engraving, it is suitable for making deep engraved patterns on flat steel plates. This method is relatively expensive, but it can create artworks with a strong three-dimensional feel.

(4) Sandblasting method

Silicon carbide particles are sprayed at high speed on the surface of the stainless steel plate through compressed air to form a rough sand pattern. The rough surface produced by sandblasting is suitable for making patterns with a depth of no more than 0.08 mm.

(5) Electrochemical etching

In an electrochemical etching solution, the surface of the stainless steel plate is etched using an auxiliary electrode to form a pattern. This method has a fast etching speed and a large etching depth, but requires special equipment.

3. Application of 304 stainless steel checker plate

304 stainless steel checker plate is made by embossing on 304 stainless steel plate, with a unique surface pattern and good anti-slip and durability. With the improvement of stainless steel processing technology, the corrosion resistance and pressure resistance of 304 stainless steel checker plate are continuously enhanced, meeting the needs of more occasions.

(1) Construction site

304 ss checker plate is often used in construction sites, especially in sections where large trucks frequently enter and exit. They can effectively reduce the bearing pressure of the ground and protect the road surface from damage.

(2) Stair treads

Stainless steel 304 chequered plate is also widely used in stair treads. Due to its excellent anti-slip and anti-corrosion properties and beautiful and durable appearance, it avoids the shortcomings of traditional cement or tile steps and has a high cost performance.

(3) Interior decoration

In the pursuit of industrial style decoration design, 304 stainless steel patterned plate is often used for indoor staircase paving. It has low cost, good durability, stable structure, strong bearing capacity, and obvious metal texture, which can add unique charm of industrial style to the interior space.

Conclusion

Stainless steel patterned plate has become an indispensable material in modern industry and construction due to its diverse production process and wide application fields. With the continuous innovation of technology, its performance and application range are expected to be further expanded, providing efficient and durable solutions for more industries and fields.
